Abstract
Octyl gallate is the ester of 1-octanol and gallic acid. It occurs as white to creamy white powder, almost odorless. It is insoluble in water, freely soluble in ethanol and ether.

 

Use/Application:
Octyl Gallate is used as antioxidant and preservative. It is commonly used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
