Calcium Sulfate BP
Abstract
Calcium Sulfate is an important laboratory and industrial chemical occurring in the anhydrous, hemihydrate and dihydrate form. Calcium sulfate dihydrate is white odorless powder which is slightly soluble in water.
Use/Application
Calcium Sulfate is used as a dessicant and as a coagulant in products like tofu. It is also used in the synthesis of sulphuric acid. It has E number E516, used as a firming agent, a flour treatment agent, a sequestrant, and a leavening agent.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
