Calcium Stearate USP

Abstract
Calcium stearate is a carboxylate of calcium, classified as a calcium soap. It appears as white bulky powder. Insoluble in water, in alcohol, and in ether.

 

Use/Application:
Calcium stearate is used as a flow agent and surface conditioner in some candies such as Smarties, jawbreakers and Sprees. Food grade calcium stearate is used as conditioning agent in certain food and pharmaceutical products. As an anti-caking agent in dehydrated vegetable products, salt, and onion and garlic powder

Shelf life, Storage and Packing

It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
