Calcium Chloride BP
Abstract
Calcium Chloride is the ionic compound of calcium and chlorine that is a solid at room temperature and highly soluble in water. It is hygroscopic in nature and must be kept in tightly sealed airtight containers.
Use/Application
Calcium Chloride is used in brine for refrigeration plants, ice and dust control on roads, and dessication. It is used to increase water hardness in swimming pools, in marine aquariums to introduce bioavailable calcium, as a food additive, as a firming agent in canned vegetables, in flavoring pickles, brewing beer, in cheese making and as an additive in plastics and in fire extinguishers.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
