Calcium Acetate USP

Abstract
Calcium Acetate also known as calcium ethanoate is the calcium salt of acetic acid. It is highly hygroscopic therefore the monohydrate is the common form.

 

Use/Application
Calcium acetate is used as a food additive, as a stabilizer, buffer and sequestrant. It is used to lower blood levels of phosphate as calcium acetate binds phosphate in the diet.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing

It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
